Well, I always say that nothing hurts like hope. And now this garden is taking shape and filling me with dreams of bushel after bushel of delicious, perfect, voluptuos, unmolested veggies.
Today I made the rows. Somehow, not surprisingly, my math was off. I’m pretty damn sure that the garden is 21X21. I carefully graphed out all the space. And yet I somehow still ended up not having the space I thought. I’m fairly certain it has something to do with relativity or Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle. Or I’m just a moron who can’t measure stuff.
In any event, I had to modify the garden plan. I’ll put the new plot up shortly. The rows are in, raised and ready for some planting. I will probably get some peas, beans, and lettuces in later tonight or tomorrow. Some from my seed starts, some from pure seed sowing, and some from plants I bought today that are probably coated in human filth, pesticides, and sin. Whatever. I just want some plants! I’d prefer my own seeds entirely, but that’s just not going to work out this year.
